BMW "Recall" 50 184 units Motorcycles

BMW Motorrad North America to recall 50,184 units of motorcycles were suspected of having damage to the fuel pump. The impact of this damage, leak fuel flow and trigger fires.

Improvements made to the plan to 4 main models , namely R production from 2005 to 2012 , K ( 2005-2012 ) , the S1000RR ( 2010-2011) and HP2 ( 2006-2010 ) . The investigation conducted by the Institute for Highway Safety and Traffic United States (NHTSA) base on consumer complaints some users R - Series production from 2004 to 2011.

After investigation, it was reported that cracked at the outlet of the pump house is made of plastic which resulted in fuel lines and gas seeps. According to NHTSA, this issue has been a concern since 2011 as the BMW was trying to cope with changing channels out of iron. BMW also have experienced the same thing in 2004, also the gas supply system disorders swampland.

BMW claimed prepared to take responsibility and immediately contact customer to fix it and replace it with a new gas station or channel components problematic. The recall began in February.
