Puerto Princessa is famous underground river in the Philippines , which is located approximately 50 kilometers from the city of Puerto Princessa , Palawan , Philippines . This river landscape features made of limestone mountains along the 8.2 kilometers . This river is the longest underground river in the world .

Puerto Princessa Subterranean River flows through a cave full of stalactites and stalagmites before ending in the South China Sea . The river is also supporting life in Palawan Moist Forest , who claimed to have the ecosystem of trees and flowers most diverse in Asia .

This river flows from the mountains to the sea through 8 forest types . These forests are home to 800 species of plants and at least 295 species of trees .

For most people , the fact that the underground river is a UNESCO World Heritage Site is enough to make them want to go there . Despite its length of 8.2 kilometers , just 2 kilometers which can be accessible to the public .

However , you can enjoy the scenery while sailing on the banks of this river , which is also surrounded by a national park that made the trip really enjoyable . You can see a lot of native island species , including parrots , monkeys , and lizards .
