Cars with Nuclear Reactors?

Cadillac World Thorium Fueled introduced, the concept of their vehicles that use fuel of nuclear energy. Although when the car was not fitted with a nuclear reactor, it is touted technology can be realized.
True enough. Charles Stevens, a researcher of Laser Power Systems, the company's research and development origins Massachusetts, United States managed to create a prototype of a thorium-powered laser that can be used to produce enough energy to propel the vehicle.
The surplus, according to a report in Technologist, this technology produces no exhaust emissions.
Unlike the thorium-powered nuclear reactor which is used in small-scale artificial Cadillac concept car, the prototype system made by Steve using thorium-fueled laser MaxFelaser.
Mentioned, it can MaxFelaser beam turns water into pressurized steam, turn a turbine and generate electricity. The system can produce up to 250 kilowatts of electricity (equivalent to approximately 335 horsepower), weighs about 227 pounds and can be mounted in the car.
It sounds incredible. But is this a realistic concept?
Thorium was mentioned by a number of nuclear scientists, and even has been a matter of discussion at Google and TEDx as a source of nuclear fuel that is better than uranium.
In addition to radioactive lower and more numerous than uranium, thorium has been tested by researchers from China as one of the potential fuel for nuclear reactors. Replacing uranium with thorium in nuclear reactors may not be a problem, but put it in the car is not easy.
Although small-scale nuclear reactor fueled thorium can theoretically possible, but none are designed to be installed in the car. Stevens uses a system that used a laser made from thorium to convert water into steam that can be used in the car.
Although Stevens has not revealed his system in the form of photographs or other visual media, he claimed that he had made MaxFelaser since 1985 and has now been successfully installed in a modified Tesla turbine and generator which he made himself.
Stevens himself has not yet determined when he made a prototype system that can be completed or whether he developed technology that can be widely implemented. Althought he successfully completed the manufacture of thorium-fueled cars, the issues surrounding road safety will be rife.
