In 2000, China banned the sale of game console because it is considered a negative impact for the “mental health “of young children in the country. As a result, PC desktop computer into a gaming machine while the dominant console can only be sold illegally.

But it was not true anymore, at least for the time being because the bamboo curtain has lifted a ban on sales of the game console while.

In a statement quoted by the BBC, the Chinese government explained that foreign companies are now allowed to produce console games in free trade zones and sells its products in China after inspection by the department of culture.

But the Chinese government did not specify how long the lifting of the ban would apply.

Sony, one of the biggest players in the game console industry, responded to this news by saying that it would study the possibility to explore the potential in China, although there are currently no definite plans. “We understand that China is a promising market, “reads the response from the Japanese company.

According to data released in the gaming industry conference in China last December, the country's video game market reached a total value of 13 billion U.S. dollars in 2013, an increase of 38 percent over the previous year.

Chris Green, an analyst at Davies Murphy Group, said that the decision to release the game console market is “great news”. “This is a huge market with a potential value of tens of billions of dollars, " he said.

Green continues that there will be a race between the console gaming industry to become the first back to China, to build factories in the Free Trade Zone, and sell their products.

In this case, according to Green, Microsoft has an advantage over Sony and Nintendo because hers outsource hardware production.
