Ford Design Solar Powered Car

Technology increasingly environmentally -friendly cars ahead . Electric cars are now plural . The hunt for other sources of power did not stop . Ford Motor Company , manufacturers from the United States , initiated a solar -powered car . The car is still in the concept stage is named Solar Energy C MAX . C MAX will be introduced at the International CES event in Las Vegas , January 7 to 10 next week .

It looks exactly the same with gasoline or electric -powered cars . The difference is that the roof is replaced with solar panels . With the solar panels , if the weather is friendly , there is no need for gas or electric plugs needed . The solar panels on top of the C MAX is not a regular solar panels . "These panels concentrate the Fresnel lens , " Ford wrote in his site , Thursday, January 2, 2014 .

These lenses are commonly used in the lighthouse tower . Like a magnifying glass , Fresnel lens in C MAX can reap more sunlight and compress . The system is also able to track the position of the sun as it moves from east to west . If dried in the sun all day , then C MAX can get a power supply equivalent to four hours of plug it into electricity . If the battery is full , is expected to cover a distance of 1,000 kilometers . For the development of this solar car , Ford took the Georgia Institute of Technology and California solar energy company SunPower .
