Where the traveler who does not like to see the desert. Stretch of brown sand stretches as far as the eye could see and promises exciting adventure in sight. But who would have thought, Africa actually has a deadly place there in the desert in Namibia.
Namibia desert area reached 49,768 square kilometers and is touted as one of the oldest desert in the world. Reporting from The Huffington Post, Friday ( 01/24/2014 ) can be adventurous traveler there to come to the Namib-Naukluft National Park are located in the middle of the desert.
Nearby cities of the Namib-Naukluft National Park is Windhoek, the capital of Namibia. Take it easy, there are several operators there that offer travel packages to the desert.
Anyone who came to the desert in the Namib- Naukluft National Park, definitely made fall in love. You like a little man in the middle of a stretch of sand that seemed limitless. But beyond that , there are actually the most deadly place there called Dead Vlei.
From the name, Dead Vlei means is Death Swamp. This swamp is surrounded by sand dunes that reach 1,312 meters high. This swamp is not at all inhabited by living things!
This swamp is actually flowing water of the River Tsauchab once every 5-10 years. But, the water of the river which empties into the swamp it will quickly be absorbed into the ground or evaporate because the sun so hot.
